Storage Container Rental FAQ

We get asked a ton of questions from customers looking to rent a storage container:

How Much Does a Storage Container Rental Cost?

Rental rates start at around $90-$110 a month for 10 ft storage container rentals, around $150-$175 per month for 20' shipping container rentals, and around $200-$225 a month for 40' cargo container rentals.

Where Can I Keep A Storage Container?

You can place the container anywhere you want as long as it is on a relatively level, smooth, and firm surface. If the container will be placed off the road be sure to mention it before renting as some companies won't deliver off of a paved road.

What Size Storage Container Rentals Are Available?

10', 20', and 40' storage container rentals are offered by nearly every company. Standard dimensions for containers are 8' wide and 8.5' high. Some companies will offer 25', 30', and 45' and high cube (9.5' high) containers as well.

How Much Space Is Needed For Delivery?

You will need about 50 to 100 feet of runway, about a 10-12 feet width and about 16-20 ft overhead clearance for your container to be placed at your property. In addition to having enough room for the delivery truck, it's essential that the ground is firm enough to support the truck. Trucks are often in excess of 25,000 lbs. so they can only drive on paved roads, or dirt roads, grass and other firm surfaces.

How soon can I have my container delivered?

Depending on your location you can often have a container delivered within one or two days. In some cases it may take up to a week to have a container delivered. If you have a flat-bed truck that can transport a container you can usually get it sooner by picking it up yourself at the container depot, and you'll even save some moeny on a delivery fee as well!

Why use a shipping container for on-site storage?

There's a ton of reasons to choose a cargo container rental over other types of storage. First of all, the metal/steel construction and weather proof design not only makes them perfect for outdoor storage in any weather, but units are also safe from theft. Due to their secure nature, you can keep them in unsupervised lots without worry.
